The CD is a complete hands on training tool. Concepts can be clearly understood through step-by-step explanations. An added bonus is that the CD is a great supplement to the Learning SoftPlan Training Manual and makes an excellent reference tool.
 

Introductory Interactive Training CD

Being the first of a series, the Introductory Training set is designed for everyone, although some general computer experience would be useful. The CDs cover the drawing of a simple house from the initial design phase through the completion of floor plans, elevations, and sections. It also includes an introduction to roof generation, object offsets, basic site plan input, and 3D rendering. At completion, one will be familiar enough with SoftPlan drawing techniques that they will be able to confidently begin drawing on their own.

Intermediate Interactive Training CD

The Intermediate Training set is best suited for those who are comfortable with the basics of SoftPlan, as covered on the Introductory Training CD. Disc one gives instructions on how to efficiently lay out floor plans for a set of construction drawings with an emphasis on proper drawing order, object offsets, as well as, customization of walls and openings.

The second disc places importance on SoftView's interaction with the floor plan through elevations, cross sections, and the generation of a 3D model. This CD also places a heavy emphasis on complex roof designs, as well as, offering an introduction to generating a site plan using surveyor's coordinates and generating terrain through the addition of shot points.

 SoftView Interactive Training CD

The SoftView Interactive Training CD set provides an excellent introduction to the rendering potential available within the SoftView program. Users will learn how to efficiently turn a concept drawing into a fully developed, rendered image. Disc 1 covers exterior rendering focusing on the site plan and topography, lighting, material assignments, landscaping, and customization of library items.

On disc 2 of the set, interior items such as kitchen layout and design, reflections, room mode and interiors are added to complete the model. The SoftView Interactive Training CDs are recommended for those who have a working knowledge of SoftPlan as the CDs assume that basic drawing concepts are understood.

SoftList Interactive Training DVD

The SoftList Interactive Training DVD will explain how to maximize the capabilities of the program, plus demonstrate many of the new tools, as well as advanced concepts for customization of the Bill of Materials. The user will learn in-depth how SoftList calculates lumber for cutlists, how to manage the accounting, and Listing Format of materials. The disk will show in-detail each of the Methods of Calculation, Creation of Custom Formulas, Import and Export with SoftList, and creation of User Defined Variables. Also a step-by-step guide will explain how to link SoftList with external price tables (ODBC), how to use SoftList Mode, and Take-off Mode to perform quick take-offs on non-SoftPlan CAD files.The SoftList Interactive Training DVD is recommended for those who have a working knowledge of SoftPlan as the DVD assumes that basic drawing concepts are understood. The information on the SoftList training DVD is very intensive and contains thirty-four chapters. It will most likely take around twenty-two hours to complete the entire disk.
